Leap – AI-Based Image Transformation

Project Overview:
Project Leap is an AI-powered 2D image transformation tool designed for quick lead generation in the kitchen industry. Instead of manually selecting design elements, users can upload their own kitchen image along with an inspiration image, and AI automatically redesigns their kitchen using the closest matching items from a manufacturer’s catalog.

Problem Statement:
Traditional kitchen redesign processes were time-consuming and lacked personalization. Users had to either select from predefined templates or manually browse through multiple catalogs to find suitable items. The goal was to:

Enable users to visualize their own kitchen with new designs in seconds.
Allow users to use an inspiration image to get a personalized transformation.
Speed up the decision-making process, benefiting manufacturers through higher engagement and lead generation.
Solution:
✔ Users upload two images:

Their own kitchen image (the base image).
An inspiration kitchen image (desired design style).
✔ AI segments the original kitchen image into relevant areas (cabinets, appliances, etc.).
✔ Object detection & matching is performed on the inspiration image to identify cabinets, appliances, and other items.
✔ The closest matching items from the manufacturer’s catalog are applied to the original kitchen image.
✔ A fully redesigned 2D kitchen image is generated and presented to the user.
My Role & Contributions:
✔ Defined product strategy and collaborated with stakeholders.
✔ Conducted feasibility analysis with AI teams.
✔ Designed an optimized UX flow for seamless user experience.
✔ Managed AI-powered object detection & segmentation integration.
✔ Led the development and implementation of API frameworks for smooth data transfer.
