Project Overview:
This AI-powered image search tool helps businesses in the kitchen & bath industry streamline catalog authoring by preventing duplicate entries. The tool enables users to upload an image and search for similar textures, cabinets, appliances, or items from a pre-existing database using Computer Vision & AI-powered search.
Problem Statement:
Before this tool, users had to manually browse the database to check if an image already existed, often leading to duplicate entries and inefficiencies. This resulted in data redundancy and slow catalog authoring.
Solution:
✔ Developed an AI-powered web tool that accepts a 2D image as input.
✔ The system stores embeddings for each image in a Mongo Vector DB.
✔ AI searches for similar images using embeddings, color, and object features.
✔ Provides closest matching results with IDs for users to select the right image.
My Role & Contributions:
✔ Defined the product strategy and aligned with business needs.
✔ Conducted feasibility analysis with AI teams to ensure accuracy.
✔ Designed a scalable UX approach to integrate this tool into existing workflows.
